OBCGS Annual Fall Workshop, 22 September 2012: What Family Search Can Do for You

On Saturday, 22 September 2012, the Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society will host its Annual Fall Workshop. This year’s guest speaker is Nancy Tychonievich, of Patron Services, FamilySearch, who will present the day-long seminar “What Family Search Can Do for You.”

Topics covered include: Search Strategies; Records Collections; Online Lessons; the FamilySearch Wiki; and many others.

The workshop will be held at the Simpson Lecture Hall on the A-B Tech Campus in Asheville, NC. Registration check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., while the workshop will be held from 9:30 to 3:30. Early-bird registration costs $25 and ends 22 August 2012. The registration fee after 22 August is $30. Registration includes lunch.

OBCGS Fall Genealogy Workshop, 18 September 2010

On 18 September 2010, the Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society will hold its annual Fall Genealogy Workshop at the Simpson Lecture Hall on the AB Tech Campus in Asheville, NC, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year’s theme is Family History in Your Pajamas: Genealogy on the Internet. The cost is $20 per person, which includes lunch and a set of handouts. To guarantee lunch and handout availability, please register in advance.

OBCGS Workshop, September 19, 2009

The Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society will hold its annual genealogical workshop on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at its library in Asheville, NC. This year’s program is “Holdings of Interest to Genealogists in Area College and University Libraries”. The libraries covered will be those of Western Carolina University, Appalachian State University, UNC-Asheville, Mars Hill College, and Warren Wilson College.

The workshop will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with registration from 8:30 to 9:00. The cost is $10.00, which does not include lunch. Pre-registration is encouraged. For more information, see September Genealogy Workshop.
