In day-to-day matters, racial and ethnic labels are not important. Racial and ethnic information, however, is important.

Particularly in matters of health. I inherited a blood trait, along with a genetic blood disorder that is found predominantly in one race. One not identified in my family history.

Treatment, surgery, and much time in the hospital would have been avoided had this information been known.

While fascinating historical reading, I don't use this information to bolster my ego one way or the other, but use it rather to promote the health of future generations. Every coin has two sides.

I found both your articles very interesting.
